How does it work

How does a pool heat pump work? Inside the weatherproof ABS cabinet, the process begins with heat traction through the extra-large evaporator coil and liquid refrigerant which absorbs ambient air. Once contact heat has been absorbed, the hot coolant flows through the titanium dual coil heat exchanger and transfer heat to the swimming pool.

With direct heat transferred, the efficient scroll compressor's job is to receive the R410A refrigerant gas to intensify the heat. This part of the process will also include the hot refrigerant being pumped through the heat exchanger. Finally, the refrigerant will restart the process and flow through the evaporator air coil again to collect even more heat. This is all managed through a self-diagnosis and automatic temperature management system.

The MKIII results are staggering, beating propane gas, natural gas and electric heaters on efficiency. Save as much as 50% over natural gas, 80% over propane gas and 500% over electric. That's 1kW of energy used for every 5kW of heat in your pool. With all this energy output, fail/safes are installed for refrigerant level, compressor and water flow, along with start-up delay.
